There are several things I especially enjoy about this book. I like the introduction of the fairies and the spirits of animals and nature. I have always believed in fairies, but the only stories I could find about them were fiction. In this book, there are accounts of actual sightings by reputable observers. After reading about the fairies, I will always remember to thank them for rocks that I pick up in the forest for my collection.
Jeff Stevenson gives a nail-biting description of his personal experience on the Pope Lick Monster Railroad Trestle. Anyone driving through that area will confirm how spooky it is and will probably agree that Jeff must have had a true guardian angel with him the night he confronted the train coming onto the trestle.
Jackie Atchison tells of the believable encounters with the ghosts of Black acre. It is interesting how they accept her presence there and how they reject the intrusion of professional ghost hunters. She shares some ways she communicates with the ghosts and how they respond.
